Reliance Power Share: Reliance Power shares have been on a remarkable rise, climbing from a 52-week low of ₹25.76 in July last year to ₹69 apiece now a jump of 168%.
Over the past five years, the stock has delivered an astonishing 1,457% return, earning it a spot among India’s top-performing multibagger stocks.
Global Ambitions on the Horizon
Anil Ambani-led Reliance Power Ltd is now setting its sights on international markets. According to reports, the company plans to build a 1,500-MW gas-based power plant abroad and is actively bidding for multiple global contracts. This move signals a bold new phase in the company’s strategic growth.
Bids in the Middle East and Asia
As part of this global push, the company has submitted bids for gas-based power projects in Kuwait, the UAE, and Malaysia.
In Bhutan, it has already made progress with two major clean energy projects, a 500-MW solar power plant and a 770-MW hydropower project.
Repurposing High-End Equipment for Overseas Use
To support the overseas venture, Reliance Power plans to redeploy two 750-MW modules of high-end equipment, originally intended for domestic use, depending on the success of its international bids.
These modules, imported from General Electric in the U.S., are part of a trio, one of which has already been exported to Bangladesh for an LNG-based project with Japan’s JERA.
Focus on Clean Energy and Storage
In a major development, Reliance Power subsidiary Reliance NU Energies recently won a Letter of Award (LOA) from SJVN Limited for a 350-MW solar project combined with a 175-MW/700 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
Once operational, this project will add 600 MW of solar DC and 700 MWh of energy storage capacity to the company’s portfolio.
India’s Leader in Integrated Solar and BESS
With a total pipeline of 2.4 GW in solar DC and over 2.5 GWh in BESS, Reliance Power has emerged as India’s largest integrated player in the solar-plus-storage segment.
The continued growth of the company’s clean energy portfolio strengthens the long-term outlook for Reliance Power shares.
