Kia Carens Clavis EV: The highly awaited Kia Carens Clavis EV has been officially revealed, following the introduction of its ICE sibling.
Staying true to Kia’s design language, the Clavis EV mirrors the ICE version in both its interior and exterior styling. A major highlight is its three-row seating arrangement, a first for this EV segment, which is expected to attract large families looking for an electric option.
490km Claimed Range Puts Rivals on Notice
One of the biggest talking points is the impressive claimed range of 490 km for the Kia Carens Clavis EV. This figure edges out the Creta Electric’s 51.4kWh variant by 17 km, despite the Clavis offering an extra row of seats.
Kia is also expected to provide a smaller 42kWh battery variant, which should deliver around 390 km on a single charge.
Loaded With Premium Features
Kia’s teaser confirms that the Kia Carens Clavis EV will be loaded with features aimed at urban buyers. Expect multiple seating options including six- and seven-seat layouts with captain seats for added comfort.
Inside, buyers will find a premium beige-and-black theme, dual-zone climate control, dual digital screens, a wireless charger, a two-spoke steering wheel, and a large panoramic sunroof.
If the ICE model is any indication, we could see advanced options like connected car tech, Level 2 ADAS, a full LED lighting setup, ventilated and powered front seats, and a digital IRVM.
Set to Challenge Popular Rivals
The new Carens Clavis EV is positioned to take on strong competition in the mid-size electric SUV segment.
Rivals include the Hyundai Creta EV, MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE.6, and the upcoming Maruti e-Vitara. Other future challengers from Toyota, Honda, Škoda, and Volkswagen will make this segment even more competitive.
Buyers won’t have to wait long Kia will officially launch the Carens Clavis EV in India on 15 July, with bookings likely to open soon. This launch is set to raise the bar for practical family EVs in India.
